Just glad A Man of the People didn't make the final cut. Nice seeing you again, Coke buddy.

I have and, as you can probably guess, I loved it. It's also one of those books I find myself reading at least once a year. Life takes me in cycles of writers, and returns me to Achebe like faithful nutrients return to the soil.

Interestingly, I've read more books in your honorable mentions than in your top (bottom?) five. I've actually read none of that dark-intellectual niche, and if I don't grow grey hairs before I finish my bucket list, I'll probably pick one or two up some time.

Oh, dark academia. It's an aesthetic that involved you listening to jazz, classical music, enjoying literature and greek mythology, dressing like the actors in Harry Potter. You need a crash course : https://www.lofficiel.at/en/pop-culture/dark-academia-aesthetic

Thankfully, I already do some those things, with the gracious exception of dressing like characters in Harry Potter. But if I did have to pick a Rowling character to dress like, it would be, without doubt, Severus Snape. Sirius Black is an honorable mention.
